First held in September 1931\, the inaugural fair was such an important community event that local schools closed for two days so families could attend. Many of the same elements of the first fair continue to bring people together today. \nThe mission of the Jefferson County Fair has remained remarkably consistent: to showcase local agriculture\, livestock\, arts\, industry\, and community achievement while providing education and entertainment for all ages. \nThe 2026 Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo carries that legacy forward with rodeo events\, exhibitions\, livestock competitions\, and a full schedule of family activities.
