Oregon Supreme Court Building Tours

The Oregon Supreme Court invites the public to attend free tours of its historic building every Tuesday in July from noon to 1 p.m. Learn about and view Oregon’s oldest continuously operating government building, where the Oregon Supreme Court first convened on Feb. 14, 1914  — Oregon’s birthday.

Located next to the Oregon State Capitol, the Supreme Court Building is a striking example of Beaux Arts style with ionic columns, arched windows, and a terra cotta exterior. Tours include an inside look at the Supreme Court Courtroom with its domed stained glass canopy ceiling created by the Povey Brothers and lessons about the history of the rule of law and the courts in Oregon.

Registration is not required, but please show up promptly at noon. Please note: weapons are not allowed inside the Supreme Court Building and everyone who attends will be screened at the entry, which includes a metal detector.
