A Beat Happening celebrates its 9th anniversary with the Summer Frequencies Showcase on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 3–7pm at L’Atelier Yaffe, a Black-owned gallery and café on Portland’s inner Eastside. This free, all-ages event brings together leading local Portland music collectives — including A Beat Happening, Let Her Cook, The Thesis, Global Based, Hungry Hungry Hip Hop, Skratcher Portland, and DJ Klyph — for an afternoon celebrating Portland’s independent music culture, creative collaboration, and community connections.

Hosted by Luvjonez and Free Tillman, the showcase centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists through live performances, DJ sets, and multi-genre sounds spanning hip hop, electronic, turntablism, and experimental music. Community partner tables and local Portland-area vendors and organizations will also be featured.

This event is sponsored by the City of Portland, Portland Events & Film, and Prosper Portland.
