Time:
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location:
Hines City Park, Hines, 97730 + Google Map

Join us for the 7th annual Archaeology & Culture Keepers Roadshow in Harney County on Saturday, June 27. The 2026 theme is “Fire & Water,” fundamental to the human story for all times and places. The Harney County Cultural Coalition has assembled artisans and craftspeople who will be demonstrating traditional skills such as saddle making and silver work, beading and basketry, and rawhide and horsehair braiding. Come celebrate and learn from these “Culture Keepers,” while listening to live music scheduled throughout the day, and enjoying local on-site food. Learn about ongoing heritage projects and ways you can get involved. Attendees can also bring personal objects (stone tools, pottery, animal bones) you wish to learn more about to a panel of experts. No financial appraisals are given.

This free family friendly event gives visitors of all ages the chance to learn about Oregon’s past and its connection to us today.

About Archaeology Roadshow

This event is one of five Archaeology Roadshows taking place across Oregon in 2026. The home organization is based out of Portland State University, which works closely with local planning committees to put on each event.
