Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Gravesite of American Revolutionary War Patriot William Cannon

Join the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) for a wreath-laying ceremony with SAR Color Guard dressed in period military clothing, carrying flags and American Revolutionary War muskets, and presenting a musket volley.

This ceremony will honor William Cannon who is the only known American Revolutionary War Patriot buried in Oregon, was an early Oregon pioneer, and was one of the 52 men who voted in favor of a provisional government at the famous meeting at Champoeg, Oregon, on May 2, 1843.

Attending will be local government and church dignitaries along with Sons of the American Revolution leaders including National SAR President General Michael Elston, and some will make comments.
